JTCC will celebrate the dedication of the Pershing Square Center Court on Friday, September 17 from 4:30 – 7:00 pm featuring exhibition matches with JTCC alumni Frances Tiafoe, Andrew Fenty, and Robin Montgomery, former doubles world #1 Richey Reneberg, and former WTA Tour top 50 player Megan Moulton-Levy, among other special guests.

With the installation of the Pershing Square Center Court at JTCC, the widely acclaimed junior training center has established itself as a world-class tournament venue with courtside seating for 480 spectators.

“We are deeply grateful to Bill Ackman, whose generosity has transformed the viewing experience for spectators at JTCC,” said CEO Ray Benton. “JTCC has had many world-class tennis matches played on site over the years on our 32 courts, but our spectators have been unable to watch comfortably and learn from what they were witnessing.”

The Pershing Square Center Court opened to spectators this week for the Wayne K. Curry Prince George’s County International Junior Hard Court Championships, the pre-US Open ITF Grade 1 Boys’ and Girls’ tournament featuring the best juniors in the world preparing for the US Open Junior Championships.

“It was the first time in my more than 20 years at JTCC that we could accommodate fans and provide a truly world-class competitive setting with fans cheering and clapping and showing their appreciation for the efforts of the players,” said JTCC President Vesa Ponkka. “We encourage JTCC supporters to join us at the dedication to experience the viewing.”

Ackman, who is the chairman of Pershing Square Capital Management, has supported JTCC for more than a decade by providing scholarships to players including Tiafoe and Montgomery.

Admission is free. All JTCC supporters and tennis fans are encouraged to attend and enjoy the courtside experience. To RSVP for the event, please click here.
