Champs II

The Champs II program is year-round and designed for 8th grade and high school players who will compete in high school tennis and/or USTA Sectional L6 and L7 tournaments.

The Champs II program is directed by Senior Coach James Carr, who is a certified USTA High Performance Coach and an accredited USPTA Coach. He previously taught tennis for the City of Tempe in Arizona, Jekyll Island Tennis Center in Georgia, and Grove Island Tennis in Florida.

The program is focused on establishing strong stroke fundamentals and tennis-specific movement. This year-round program consists of tennis instruction, fitness training, and competitive match play.

Champs II players train two hours daily, up to five days a week on both clay and hard courts. Champs II participants qualify for free summer training weeks and JTCC’s College Services to prepare for college tennis recruitment.

The Champs II schedule is as follows:

Monday – Thursday          6:00 – 8:00 pm

Sunday                               11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Meetings may be scheduled with the Champs II coaching staff to discuss player progress.

Students enrolled in the Champs II program will receive a complimentary week of summer training equivalent to the number of days enrolled per week during the school year. Players who join the program mid-year will receive the member rate. Any player leaving the JTCC program during the year will not receive free summer training weeks. 60 day notice is required to cancel a high performance training contract.

Registration is open for the 2022-2023 program (September 6 – June 2).
