 JTCC is a unique business because we not only train some of the top junior tennis players in the world, but we’re also a non-profit, providing free tennis and education to under-served communities around Prince George’s county and the DC metro area. We’re passionate about the work we do and are looking for enthusiastic employees to help us grow our programs and mission. Full Time Coaching Positions

Staff Tennis Coach

As an integral part of the tennis team, a Full Time Coach will be expected to:

  • Provide tennis lessons for members and guests
  • Assist in running special events
  • Follow provided curriculum and self-produce private and semi-private lessons
  • Actively promote club tennis programs and lessons and grow participation
  • Motivate students by providing encouragement and positive feedback
  • Have experience in Junior Development
  • Maintain at least one nationally recognized certification in tennis
  • Possess a NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher
  • Demonstrate in an enthusiastic, pleasant, and energetic manner
  • Must be able to work weekends

High-Performance Tennis Coach

Expectations and experience:

  • Compete and hit with UTR 10+
  • Travel 15+ weeks both nationally and internationally
  • Create player development plans and manage player development
  • Provide appropriate feedback during point and match play
  • Teach appropriate fundaments, techniques, strategic and tactical skills
  • Collegiate tennis playing or coaching experience preferred
  • Kinesiology, sports management, psychology, business, education and hospitality are all mayors that lend themselves well to coaching and mentoring
  • Tennis coaching two years preferred
  • Maintain at least one nationally recognized certification in tennis
  • Willingness to participate in outreach programs

College Advisor & High-Performance Tennis Coach

Expectations and experience:

  • Help aspiring collegiate athletes navigate the College recruiting process
  • Through seminars and workshops educate parents and players on NCAA rules regulations
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to perspective student athletes.
  • Leverage existing relationships within the collegiate coaches to help perspective student-athletes with college placement
  • Travel national wide and international
  • Create player development plans and manage player development
  • Maintain at least one nationally recognized certification in tennis
  • Willingness to participate in outreach programs
  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred

Internships

Community Impact Curriculum Development Internship

Our community impact intern will work closely with our NYO and adaptive tennis managers to solidify and organize our on-court and classroom curriculums and support our overall mission of “Tennis For Everybody.” This will include:

  • Proposing relevant trainings for coaches/teachers
  • Helping develop our ACE (classroom tutoring) curriculum
  • Grouping our current instructional materials into age/grade levels
  • Ensuring our coaches and teachers have the materials they need
  • Developing worksheets and activities to be used both on-court and in the classroom
  • Visiting NYO sites with lead coaches to help teach and ensure curriculum is being executed as planned
  • Participate in adaptive/NYO on-court tennis programming, events and clinics
  • Other duties as assigned

Community Impact Program Management Internship

Our program development intern will work closely with our NYO and adaptive tennis managers to communicate and coordinate with current program partners, research new opportunities, and support our overall mission of “Tennis for Everybody.” This will include:

  • Managing incoming and outgoing email and phone communications with school and community center staff
  • Creating and updating documents and spreadsheets with relevant program information such as rosters and staff schedules
  • Collecting and analyzing participant survey data
  • Researching new partners for both our free adaptive clinics and NYO sites
  • Scheduling resources: equipment, vans, staff, etc.
  • Participating in adaptive tennis clinics and NYO on-site programming
  • Other duties as assigned

Marketing Internship

Our marketing intern will work closely with our team on several projects including:

  • Creating print and digital content to market our programs and events via social media, flyers and posters, newsletters, website news stories and blog posts
  • Researching current marketing trends our team could utilize to grow our client base
  • Collecting and analyzing data about client experience and marketing efforts
  • Streamlining processes for large events like US Open ticket sales and campaign fundraisers
  • Working in Constant Contact to help our team research and leverage all its capabilities
  • Investigating applications such as Hootsuite to determine suitability
  • Attending, participating, and documenting (photo and video) programs, clinics, festivals, and events
