Coaching

Full Time College Advisor & High Performance Coach

Full-Time College Advisor and High-Performance Coach is a combined salaried and hourly position with benefits. The position is designed to fulfill the mission of developing the highest-level student-athlete.  The Full Time College Advisor and HP Coach will:

  • Prepare thorough seminars, workshops, and educate players and parents in the JTCC Junior Performance Pathway on NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to perspective student-athletes.
  • Ensure the growth and success of College Pathway and other JTCC programming through program administration.
  • Leverage existing relationships with the college coaches to help student athletes with college placement.
  • Produce video content for college recruiting purposes.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Player Development to identify the proper structure to help aspiring collegiate athletes navigate the college recruiting process.

Responsibilities:

  • This position is designed as “on-site” and requires employees to be at the office on site to complete tasks associated with the position.
  • Expected to teach roughly 34 hours on court and do six hours per week of collegiate advising administrative work.
  • Establish a fun, energetic and engaged on court experience for all players.
  • Organize and implement high quality lessons, clinics, and camps.
  • Create player development plans and manage player development.
  • Provide appropriate feedback during point and match play.
  • National travel required.
  • Ensure smooth operations through equipment set-up, clean up, taking attendance and delivery of reports to the Senior Director of Player Development.
  • Assist with promotion of programs and growth.
  • Attend professional development trainings and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Player Development

Qualifications:

  • Available to work a full schedule year-round, including nights and weekends.
  • PTR, USPTA or ITF Certified (or willing to become and maintain either certification).
  • Safe Play approved (or willing to become and maintain approved status).
  • Positive, encouraging, dynamic, organized, highly motivated, prompt, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic.
  • Comfortable working with 4-6 players in a group clinic format.
  • Able to deliver information clearly, concisely, and timely.
  • A customer service attitude and passionate about introducing the sport of tennis to young kids.
  • Willing to align with the JTCC Teaching Philosophy.
  • Willing to participate in outreach and adaptive programs.
  • Ability to attract clients and build a teaching portfolio with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attend professional development trainings and meetings.
  • Able to start something new and grow an existing program.
  • Have access to a car and or willing to drive the company’s 12 passenger van.

Experience:

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Tennis coaching, two years preferred.
  • Strong playing skills, 1-10 WTN and/or former collegiate play.
  • Majors in kinesiology, sports management, psychology, business, education, and hospitality that lend themselves well to coaching and mentoring.

Full Time Junior Performance Development Coach

Full-Time Junior Performance Development Coach is a combined salaried and hourly position with benefits. The position is designed to fulfill the needs of JTCC’s junior programs.  The Full Time Junior Performance Development Coach will:

  • Organize and implement high quality lessons, clinics, and camps.
  • Teach on court in different types of programming with a focus on the Junior Pathway.
  • Track the record of success in growing participation in youth sports programs.
  • Work with the Director of Tennis and Future Champs Manger to identify areas of growth, options for increased revenue or issues that need resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • This position is designed as “on-site” and requires employees to be at the office on site to complete tasks associated with the position.
  • Expected to teach roughly 35 hours per week, 15-20 of which would be Junior Development.
  • Establish a fun, energetic and engaged on court experience for all players.
  • Teach clinics, group lessons, private lessons, and assist with any program events as needed.
  • Ensure smooth operations through equipment set-up, clean up, taking attendance and delivery of reports to the Future Champs Manager.
  • Evaluate players for moving along the JTCC pathway.
  • Assist with planning and execution of tennis events as needed.
  • Teach camps; includes summer, winter, and special holiday camps.
  • Participate in adaptive, outreach and adult programs.
  • Assist with promotion of programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

  • Available to work a full schedule year-round, including nights and weekends.

  • Prior experience in R-O-G-Y tennis methodologies, preferred.
  • Tennis coaching two years, preferred.
  • Strong playing skills, 4.0+ NTRP or 1-10 WTN and or former collegiate play.
  • Majors in kinesiology, sports management, psychology, business, education, and hospitality that lend themselves well to coaching and mentoring.

Fitness

Part-Time Yoga Instructor

The purpose of this position is to aid in creating a holistic training program by providing an additional aspect of training (yoga) which will assist in developing JTCC student-athletes.

Part-Time Yoga Instructor will:

  • Provide yoga classes to junior players aged 9-18
  • Play a major part in the players injury prevention program
  • Correspond with the Director of Athlete Development to plan yoga classes according to the players needs
  • Provide feedback to Director of Athlete Development on the progress of players increase in mobility/flexibility
  • Employee will use creative techniques and or movement sequences to keep players engaged

Responsibilities:

  • This position is designed as “on-site” and requires employees to be at the center to complete job duties
  • Employee will be responsible for leading yoga classes for junior tennis players
  • Classes range in time from 60-90 minutes and should incorporate guided stretching exercises that will improve the players mobility

Qualifications:

  • Available to work a full schedule year round (academic school year, September-June and summer camps, June-August)
  • Employee should have 200 hour yoga teacher training certification
  • Employee should be CPR/AED certified

Experience:

  • ‘Preferred’ experience working with athletes
  • Experience leading classes with varying level of physical ability
  • Ability to teach up to 20 individuals at a time
  • Ability to teach different styles of yoga and lead guided stretching

Marketing

Marketing Internship

Our marketing intern will work closely with our team on several projects including:

  • Creating print and digital content to market our programs and events via social media, flyers and posters, newsletters, website news stories and blog posts
  • Researching current marketing trends our team could utilize to grow our client base
  • Collecting and analyzing data about client experience and marketing efforts
  • Streamlining processes for large events like US Open ticket sales and campaign fundraisers
  • Working in Constant Contact to help our team research and leverage all its capabilities
  • Investigating applications such as Hootsuite to determine suitability
  • Attending, participating, and documenting (photo and video) programs, clinics, festivals, and events
