Coinciding with the opening of the Olympics on July 23, JTCC hosted a festive Olympic Pep Rally celebrating three Prince George’s County Olympians – JTCC alumnus Frances Tiafoe and NBA stars Kevin Durant and Jerami Grant.

Attendees enjoyed food, raffle giveaways, photo opportunities, trivia, and video montages of the Olympic players on a 7×12 screen adjacent to stadium court.
Guest speakers included Prince George’s County native and Super Bowl Champion Kyle Arrington, formerly of the New England Patriots, special guest Wanda Durant, mother of Kevin, and JTCC CEO Ray Benton.
Tiafoe won both his first round singles and doubles matches at his inaugural Olympic Games, defeating South Korea’s Kwon Soon-woo in singles, 6-3, 6-2. With three-time doubles Grand Slam champion Rajeev Ram as his partner, Tiafoe beat the Russian Olympic Committee team of Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in a heated battle 6-7, 7-6, 12-10.
