JTCC alumnus Frances Tiafoe is no stranger to the media spotlight following a stellar 2022 season that included a remarkable run to the semifinals of the US Open and the clinching victory to seal Team World’s first Laver Cup championship over Team Europe.
The world #17 was featured in “Grind Mode,” a short documentary released on January 12 on YouTube and produced by Team Whistle, an award-winning sports and entertainment media company.
The segment was filmed at JTCC in December as Tiafoe trained with JTCC alumnus and Morgan State University player Mikeal Carpenter and JTCC High Performance players Stiles Brockett and University of Michigan verbal commit Cyrus Mahjoob.
JTCC Senior Director of Coach Development Oliver Akli and JTCC Senior Director of Athlete Development TC Costello, who has been Tiafoe’s full-time fitness coach since 2018 and began traveling with him to events in early 2022, talk about their relationship with the Hyattsville native.
