It is with great sadness that JTCC shares the news of Jon Epstein, President of FILA North America & Global Chief Commercial Officer, who passed away at the age of 63 on Friday, February 15.
JTCC and FILA have developed a very successful partnership. FILA has become a part of JTCC’s identity as the FILA Team has worked closely with JTCC players and staff over the last five years.
“Jon was a true leader in the industry and will be sorely missed by everyone at JTCC and across the greater tennis community,” commented Ray Benton JTCC CEO.
Jon Epstein served as FILA’s President and CEO from 1998 to 2003 and then returned as President of FILA North America in 2007. Epstein was highly respected by his colleagues and those in the industry as his entrepreneurial spirit helped drive FILA’s resurgence and secure note-worthy partnerships with brands such as Fendi, Urban Outfitters, and Barneys New York. Prior to joining FILA, Epstein worked for Adidas America where he helped the brand break the $1 Billion mark in the US.
Jon loved tennis and all of the FILA athletes. He was referred to as trustworthy, genuine, innovative, and successful by those who knew him and worked alongside him.
The JTCC team sends its deepest condolences to FILA North America as it mourns the loss of Jon.
