The Prince George’s Police Athletic League (PAL), in partnership with JTCC, is proud to offer the PAL Tennis Program, that provides tennis instruction to youth in Prince George’s County who otherwise might not be able to experience the game of tennis.
As part of JTCC’s mission to grow the sport selected PAL participants are offered a free eight-week introductory program hosted by JTCC in College Park.
The partnership marks the first occasion that any Police Athletic League in the country has offered a youth tennis program of this caliber. JTCC is very proud to lead this charge.
Since partnering with PAL in January 2017, JTCC have selected over 30 players to receive scholarship funding. PAL sessions are held four times a year (spring, summer, fall and winter).
Eight Week Training
PAL classes are held for an hour each week. The introductory program follow a curriculum where they learn ball handling skills, racket skills along with training to develop their ABCs (agility, balance, coordination) skills, progression drills using forehands, backhands, volleys, serves to build rallies, learning to score, and playing out points while still enhancing their personal development skills.
Police Athletic League Try-Outs
The Police Athletic League hosts try-outs at JTCC every spring, summer, fall and winter where JTCC coaches scout participants who show good behavior, athletic ability and love the game of tennis! Click here for more information about PAL
