Police Athletic League

Prince George’s Police Athletic League (PAL) is a juvenile crime prevention program that uses mentoring, educational, athletic and recreational activities to build trust and understanding between law enforcement and youth. The PAL Tennis Program provides instruction to youth in Prince George’s County who otherwise might not be able to experience the sport.

Since PAL first partnered with JTCC in 2017, more than 30 PAL Tennis Program participants have been selected by JTCC to receive scholarships to attend JTCC’s nationally acclaimed training program. The partnership between JTCC and PAL marked the first time that PAL has offered a program to talented and committed participants providing a youth tennis pathway leading to college scholarships.

College Park Academy

College Park Academy (CPA) is a charter middle and high school located in Prince George’s County. During the spring of 2018, JTCC began offering a semester-long series of free introductory classes to CPA 6th graders.

In addition, JTCC hosts a CPA after school program for students to participate in classes at JTCC once a week for two hours to receive tennis and fitness instruction. This after school activity has provided an opportunity for a number of the CPA students to continue improving their skills in an advanced environment.

Free Community Tennis Festivals

JTCC offers free community tennis festivals to further its mission of providing “Tennis For Everybody.” The festivals are scheduled four times annually and are open to players of all ages and abilities, including juniors and adults, with no previous tennis experience required.

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, JTCC has postponed free community tennis festivals until further notice and anticipates restarting the popular events as soon as it is safe to do so.
