JTCC Reopens With Additional Protocols

Dear JTCC Members and Participants,

In an abundance of caution, JTCC closed for three days effective Thursday, February 4 at 11:00 pm.

JTCC will reopen on schedule on Monday morning, February 8 at 7:00 am.

This closure allowed us to get staff testing, deep clean the facility, air out all of our buildings, change all of our air filtration, and use our electrostatic sprayer to sanitize/disinfect all surfaces and spaces.

As of Sunday evening, 15 JTCC coaches have received negative test results and no positive results.  Coach Vesa Ponka, who had a Positive Rapid Test, now has received a Negative PCR Result.  Coach Vesa is getting a second PCR test before deciding when to return to work.

At this time, JTCC will be adding additional safety measures to our Covid-19 protocol:

  1. Masks must be worn at all times at JTCC and must fit properly (snugly around the nose and chin with no large gaps around the sides of the face).

Novelty/non-protective masks, including neck gaiters and bandanas, masks with ventilation valves, or face shields as a substitute for masks, will not be permitted. See this link for the CDC explanation about face coverings:

  1. For those members using the gym, please wear gloves with full finger coverings.

  1. For parents escorting young children into JTCC to participate in programs, we ask that only one parent enter JTCC. If your child is under 10 years of age, and you feel it is necessary to stay in the facility, we ask that only one parent stays. Limiting occupancy in the facility is extremely important.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience our closure may have caused. However, everyone’s health and safety is our primary concern.  We thank everyone for their continued support while we do our best to navigate the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
