Breathe Easy at JTCC!

Dear JTCC Family,

You can rest assured that JTCC is committed to providing the safest and healthiest environment as we prepare for upcoming indoor play with the installation of state-of-the-art ventilation systems in each of our three buildings.

As long as weather permits and the sides of the buildings can remain open, we will use a strategy of increasing the air flow by exhausting air and introducing outside air into the tennis buildings through the use of additional fans.  We will be able to change the air quantity 12 times per hour effectively mitigating the presence of Covid-19 to the best of our ability.

After much research and consulting with three engineering firms and various medical professionals, we will be implementing the following three upgrades when the weather turns cold and the indoor space requires heat:

  1. Utilization of MERV-13 filters. This is the best filter level for our heating units and the gold standard for commercial buildings.
  2. Installing a Bipolar Ionization System (BPI). Bipolar ionization is an active air purification method carrying bi-polar ions into the indoor space via the air source (HVAC, heaters) for the space. These ions interact with contaminants in the air and on surfaces. The ion effect is continuous, so the benefit is a continuous disinfection of the space and is self-sustaining, meaning if the air supply is providing air to the space, the ions will continue to saturate and clean the space.
  3. JTCC will shut down the heating systems and exhaust the air from the buildings during non-operating hours. Overnight air in each building will be turned over a minimum of 28 times. This will give us a clean, fresh start daily.

While there is no guaranteed method in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, we believe that the above proactive procedures coupled with your cooperation in wearing face masks, social distancing, and following all of JTCC’s guidelines, will result in a healthy and enjoyable indoor season.

Thank you very much for your support of JTCC.
