JamFest 2008 to Benefit Junior Tennis Champions Center

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland, has been named the beneficiary of JamFest 2008. The event, to be held in New York on Friday, September 5 at The Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan, promises to be the premier late night destination for tennis pros and enthusiasts alike. JamFest will fully capture the excitement of the US Open, featuring big screen displays of champions past and present, many of whom will be in attendance. Cocktails and hors d’oeurves will be served while guests enjoy a light hearted competition, billed as a battle of the bands.  Highlighting the show will be the Bryan Bros. Band, and The Jensen Brothers Band

The battle of the bands competition will move some of the biggest names in tennis from center court to center stage for a night of extraordinary entertainment. ”I think this event is long overdue,” said Wayne Bryan, father and coach to the #1 ranked doubles team in the world, Bob and Mike Bryan. “People have been talking about it for years, and it is very exciting to have an opportunity like this, to come together to benefit children” continued Bryan, who also plays guitar in the Bryan Bros. Band.

The beneficiary of the evening’s proceeds will be the Junior Tennis Champions Center.  The Champions Center is one of the premier junior tennis academies in the world.  It is also a not-for-profit organization. "It is a privilege to be named the beneficiary of JamFest," said Champions Center Director Martin Blackman. "To be a part of such an event, particularly during the US Open, is quite special."

Like The Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan, the Junior Tennis Champions Center (501[c][3]) is an organization on the rise. With eleven national champions over the past five years in varying age divisions, the success of the not-for-profit JTCC is hard to ignore. The newly renovated Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan, is an ideal venue to celebrate tennis and support the success of the JTCC. The money raised will go toward financial aid for students. In 2008, the JTCC offered over $200,000 in need-based financial aid.
