Jan 2, 2014

Kyrylo

Kyrylo Tsygura (JTCC) fell in the Junior Orange Bowl Semifinals this past weekend

1,400 of the top ranked 12-and-under and 14-and-under players descended upon Coral Gables and Key Biscayne to compete in the 52nd annual Junior Orange Bowl International Championship.  The tournament was held from December 14 through December 23.

Chris Evert, Jimmy Conners, Novak Djokovic, Mary Joe Fernandez, Andy Roddick, Monica Seles, Andy Murray, Andre Agassi, Juan Martin del Potro and Steffi Graf previously showcased their talents at the event.  In short, the Junior Orange Bowl boasts name recognition.

As Junior Tennis Champions Center’s Kyrylo Tsygura, a semifinalist in the 14 Boys Division, noted to zootennis, “It definitely feels different, I think.”  “It’s international, a lot of different kids, a lot of different faces.  It feels much better to be in the semis of Orange Bowl,” Kyrylo continued.

In total, 48 Junior Tennis Champions Center players competed in the Orange Bowl and Junior Orange Bowl (includes qualifying and main draw).
